There are many surfaces that can be used as AFM imaging substrates. Mica, HOPG, precious metal thin films, and metal beads. AFM experimental substrate comes with a wide range of sizes, thickness and shapes. Our Engineers designed various liquid cell and liquid cell accessories to accommodate substrates that allow the different volumes of liquid to be used in imaging.
Although most samples for AFM are flat and thin, there are samples that differ from traditional sizes and shapes. Our engineers designed special holders for those unique sized and shaped samples and are proven to be simple to use, easy to clean and reliable!
Many biological Samples are fixed on microscope glass slides that no commercial AFM liquid cell is currently capable of handling. We have created the disposable PDMS liquid cell for such samples. The sterilized single use PDMS self-adhesive cell is a single cell sample holder that is disposable and eliminates chances of cross contamination.
